Powder is actually one of the makeup products I reach for least and I definitely wasn’t looking to try anything new. Being quite dry I tend to stick to the RCMA no-colour powder for setting concealer and that’s about it. I recently came across the hyaluronic hydra-powder from By Terry which isn’t a particularly new product (as far as I’m aware) and I haven’t heard too many people talking about it. But those that have tried it really seem to rave about it.
Not gonna lie, I mainly decided to purchase it because you could buy a mini travel size. Why are minis of products so much more appealing than full sizes?
The powder itself is a very finely milled translucent powder. It’s supposed to conceal pores, fine lines and leave a matte finish to prevent any shine. It’s very similar to the Makeup Forever ‘ultra HD’ loose powder in the sense that it’s so finely milled its almost smoother and lighter than a powder. There is then the slight downside that it goes bloody everywhere and has the potential to cause a mild asthma attack if you breath anywhere near it.
When you brush this over the skin it truly does blur everywhere you apply it. It’s literally like putting an Instagram filter on your face. Because it’s also so finely milled it looks (and feels) really light on the skin. It doesn’t emphasise any lines or pores and, most importantly, doesn’t look cakey. Even swatched on the back of your hand this has that real blurring effect like you’ve applied a pore filing primer over your skin.
The other great thing about this powder is it doesn’t change colour. which often happens with really finely milled powders. If you like powders with that truly blurring effect then you will love this powder!
Have you tried this or any other By Terry products, if so, what did you think of them?
